Mission Opportunities

Sunday Mission Brunches

Once a month we have a special luncheon after worship and the proceeds go towards a local or international mission organization. We continue in prayer for those we have supported such as:

  • The Crisis Center for victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault (4 County Area)
  • Hope Harbor, Transitional Guidance and Housing in Grand Island, NE
  • Crop Walk: Church World Service
  • Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Efforts throughout our state and the world
  • Voice of the Martyrs: Supporting Christians suffering from religious persecution
  • Diakonie: Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren

30 Hour Famine

Our youth join with youth around the world to fast in solidarity with hungry children throughout the world. Sponsored by World Vision International, this overnight experience is filled with games and service projects to open the perspectives of our youth. The Adults journey along with them as mentors/sponsors.

Community Events

Community Vacation Bible School: Our church joins with four other churches from Howard County to provide a fun and educational bible school each July. This summer our dates are July 8-12.

Summer Sewing Class: This program has been running in June since 2012. Children can sign up through the city programs to join a class provided by some of our sewing ladies. During the first year, each child made a wall hanging, and they all submitted them to the Howard County Fair. During our second and third summers, our enrollment doubled and our number of sewing machines and helpers did too! In 2014, we offered two classes, and both filled up with eager students and volunteers.

Craft Days

The last Friday of the month is set aside as a “Craft Day” and our women are always busy making different projects. They have made and sent dresses to orphanages around the world and baby blankets for families in need. From time to time, we schedule a saturday craft day for those who work during the week.

Mission Trips

Spring 2013: We’re hoping to send a group to help farmers in Northern Nebraska rebuild their fences with the help of Presbyterian Disaster Relief.

Summer 2013: English Camp in Policka, CZ
